OUR HISTORY
  SMPS was founded in 1973 by marketers as The Society of Birddoggers, a name that refers to the task of seeking out new business opportunities.
 
At that time, increased competition and changes in professional regulations made marketing professional services both acceptable and necessary. SMPS grew out of the need for marketers to have a place to meet and exchange ideas.
 
Since then, the Society has grown to over 5,000 members in 49 Chapters throughout the US.
 
THE SAN DIEGO CHAPTER

The San Diego Chapter was formed in 1983 to serve marketing professionals who live or work in San Diego County and parts of Orange County. The chapter has more than 180 members from over 100 leading architectural, engineering, construction, landscape, and specialty consulting firms. The Chapter offers monthly luncheon programs, workshops for beginning, intermediate and master marketers, Networking Groups, an Annual Golf Classic, Webinars, and much more.
