I’m happy to announce that Bob Buchmann from KGB-FM: Classic Rock San Diego will be the MC for our SMPS San Diego Golf Tournament on May 30th! If you’ve never had the chance to meet Bob, I seriously question what you’ve been doing all your life.
Besides entertaining all of us, Bob will be supporting our charity, The Community Project, and will be running our live auction during dinner. Your presence, whether sponsoring or golfing (register here) will also be supporting our charity. Please come out and have some fun with us. Indeed, if you email Jeff Rank (email@example.com) with “Bob Buchmann” in the subject line, we’ll get you 10 raffle tickets for the tournament…well, if you come to dinner, sponsor, or golf. This special offer lasts until 4−11−14.
Bob started his career as a teenager in his parent’s basement with a soldering iron in hand and built his own 100 watt pirate station in Dix Hills, New York. An FCC visit to his parent’s house ended the fun three months later.
Today Bob is at another legendary station that’s been true to rock for over 40 years: 101.5 KGB/San Diego, where he co-hosts The Bob & Coe Show, mornings 6 to 10. Since joining last year he is grateful to the listeners for catapulting The Bob & Coe Show to the top of the Arbitron Ratings. He lives in Oceanside with his California Girl, Carrie and their little girl, Pippin and couldn’t be happier to come out and support SMPS-SD!
Shannah holds the world record for the Longest Moonwalk in Middle School: 4.2 miles. A shy girl from Oklahoma, she learned to speak like a valley girl by age 15 after moving to California. She went on to pump up school spirit as a cheerleader for many years. Her life changed when she had to choose between the affections of her doting childhood sweetheart and a rich but sensitive playboy: a story that became the basis for a John Hughes movie, maybe all of them.
